Alexander Ramsey (?-June 7, 1875) was a deputy who worked for the Ellis County Sheriff's office. He was killed while investigating a situation in Rooks County, Kansas.

On Monday, June 7, 1875, Ramsey was shot and killed when he and his deputy encountered two horse theives while riding to Stockon, Kansas. They encountered a horse trail in Rooks County and him and his deputy went to investigate it. They then encountered two men selling horses and a shootout broke out. Sheriff Ramsey and one of the suspects was killed. His deputy was unharmed while the second suspect was wounded and apprehended, but later acquitted in the trial.

He is buried in St. Joseph Cemetery in Hays, Kansas.
